Richard T. Crotty has served as Orange County Mayor since January, 2001 when he was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush. Mayor Crotty won re-election in 2002 and 2006. 

Mayor Crotty is the chief executive of a county government that provides complete urban services to more than 1 million people, nearly two-thirds of whom live in the unincorporated areas of the county. He is responsible for the day to day operations of the county government, overseeing nearly 7,000 employees with an annual budget of over $2.5 billion.
